Current Laws and Regulations
Melles Cornea Clinic is licensed in the Netherlands as an Independent Treatment Center (ZBC), also called an Institute of Specialized Medical Care (IMSZ). The clinic provides (insured) medical care and operates in compliance with the laws and regulations set forth by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and its subsidiary bodies, including the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and the Healthcare Inspection Authority (IGZ).
Every year, the clinic reports to the Dutch healthcare authorities on the care it has provided. Two of the ways it does this are by submitting the “Quality Indicators for Private Clinics” document to the IGZ and submitting its “Socially Responsible Annual Report” to the Ministry.
